Welcome to our website! - We're still working on it!

Who are we?

We are a battle reenactment group representing the famous 43rd Regiment of Foot (The Monmouthshire Light Infantry) of the Napoleonic Wars - more specifically of the "Penninsula War". The 43rd later became the first batallion of the King's Royal Rifles, together with the 95th, 60th, 52nd and 85th regiments.

We are the "default" regiment of a "batallion of detatchments", which include elements of the 92nd Highlanders, Brunswickers, 27th Inniskillens, 74th regiment of foot and any others who have the wish to put on the King's Uniform and join us.

What do we do?

We travel throughout Europe and the rest of the World, making lots of new friends and shooting at them the next day - especially if they're French or Americans (although anyone will do). Seriously, we do our best to show the public a glimpse of the past while at the same time having fun. For some it's "Cowboys and Indians"; for others it's a serious research tool, some like the craft aspects, or camping and cooking over a fire, others still like to interact with the public.

We have two main parts, the military and the civillian and many different roles to play in both. Whether you want to play Private Soldier either in the 43rd or another British or Allied Regiment, Bugler, Regimental Schoolmaster, Surgeon, Soldier's Wife, Lady or Gentleman, Spanish Militia, Journalist or anything else you can think of, there's a place for you in the 43rd.
